Dyslexia Diagnostic Report

A Dyslexia Diagnostic Assessment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to identify specific difficulties related to reading, writing, and language processing. Conducted by myself, the assessment explores phonological awareness, memory, processing speed, and literacy skills to determine whether dyslexia is present and to what extent it affects learning. The process typically includes standardised tests, background history, and an in-depth discussion of learning experiences. The results provide a clear profile of strengths and challenges, along with tailored recommendations for support, accommodations, and strategies to help individuals achieve their full potential in education, work, and daily life.

What an assessment involves

  • Firstly, parents/carers and teachers need to complete detailed questionnaires.

  • A sight test needs to be evidenced from the past year.

  • The child completes a series of short subtests, taking around 3 hours. This can be done either at my house, yours or even at school with prior agreement.

  • Then, I score the tests, analyse and create a report. This is very detailed and in line with SASC guidelines, giving strengths, weaknesses and practical recommendations for school and home.

  • You will be sent the draft report to approve, once done the final report will be sent.

  • Thanks so much, we’ve been through the report and we’re happy with it. We think it’s very thorough and love how you’ve picked out his strengths and who he is, thanks for your kindness and care.
